Origins

Like many of us, my love of creating is rooted from my parents.  My dad the tinkerer, and my mom, the creator.  She created out of necessity (sewing and other needle work) early on but,  in later years explored colors and techniques of many art forms.  I've been told I'm fearless in my art undertaking - just diving right in!  This readiness for experimentation was easily handed down to me from both my parents.   

 I had been using stained glass in mosaics for many years but when I was introduced to a stained glass class, I was hooked.  It's helped me to slow down and explore all the ideas in my head!  

I've continued to learn about color theory and design techniques through others in the stained glass community--so many wonderful artists sharing their wisdom.    The possibilities with this art form are endless.  In 2026, I'm working on refining my pattern designs and creating with the light and beauty of nature around me.  

I often find myself reflecting on an early memory of the beautiful interplay between light and glass that came from a small stained-glass window in the front hallway of the home where I grew up.  Despite its modest surroundings, that little window infused our otherwise ordinary space with captivating light, sparking something within me. 

Hacia la Luz has been a lifelong journey...
